Pre-Christmas Fun

Before we went to California for Christmas my Mom came to Provo to sneak in a little Holiday Cheer, or more accurately to see her grand baby before we took her 14 hours away (I don't blame her, just look at that face!). When she comes to visit we usually either go out to dinner or shop, but this time we took it to the next level and went to Salt Lake City for dinner...oh and to see the lights at Temple Square!

For dinner we went to a little restaurant about 7 blocks West of Temple Square it's called the Red Iguana, its Mexican food and it was absolutely delicious! We found out about the restaurant by watching one of our favorite shows Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri, and boy does he deliver! The food was authentic, and you could just taste the freshness of the ingredients. Funny story, waiters are a sneaky breed...we were in the process of ordering our meal and he asks my Mom "Would you like some FRESH guacamole today?" and of course we assumed that it was complimentary...I mean the salsa was, so why wouldn't the guacamole be just the same??! That heavenly pile of deliciousness was about $10...wow. Thankfully we decided that we wouldn't let our lapse in judgment overshadow the scrumdiddlyumptiousness of our meal. We got Pork Tamales, Tacos Don Ramones, and Empanada’s of deliciousness. Oh and you know that the waiter asked us if desert was a part of our plans that evening..."Not unless it's complimentary buddy...” So with full stomachs and wearing our entire closet full of winter attire worn by the four of us we made our way to Temple Square.

Oh boy was it worth the trip the lights were spectacular as always and the displays were beautiful!

We took no chances with Addie and the cold, but thankfully she was a little bundle of joy!

You know I took my shutter happy privilege to take random candids of my family.

We even were able to take a detour and take pictures in the little courtyard, just off the side of the reflective pool, where PJ proposed to me! Overall I think it was a wonderful way to spend time with my Mom, and we all had a great time! Mmmm Mexican food...

  2. Sweet blog. Way to get PJ on his knees proposing again :) Also, I'm jealous that you got to taste "the" Philly Cheesesteak sandwich at the fair. I'm also jealous of all those quilt entries. Sad mine wasn't in it. Did I tell you that I finished Owen's quilt for his bed? It turned out pretty awesome. I'll have to send pics sometime. You're so cute. Love ya!
